Water Utility Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Water Utility Technician to support daily operations at a water treatment facility. This hands-on role is ideal for skilled laborers who enjoy outdoor work, take pride in maintaining critical infrastructure, and work well as part of a team. The ideal candidate is dependable, responsive, and able to follow detailed instructions while adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines. This position plays a key role in supporting water plant technicians and maintaining clean, safe, and functional facilities and grounds.

Schedule & Benefits:

  • Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Weekly Pay at $19.00/hr
  • Benefits Options Available
  • Immediate Start Available upon meeting all qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general labor and environmental cleanup duties at a water treatment facility
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Assist water treatment plant technicians with routine operational and maintenance tasks
  • Clean and maintain tunnels, equipment, and work areas
  • Dig ditches, move materials, and support basic assembly tasks
  • Maintain water and wastewater mains, including cleaning water meters
  • Operate mowers and basic lawn and grounds equipment
  • Mow, detail, and maintain district grounds, including athletic fields
  • Clean sidewalks, buildings (interior and exterior), and surrounding facility areas
  • Care for trees, shrubs, and landscaped areas through watering, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, and weed control
  • Keep work areas free of debris and properly organize tools, materials, and equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and supervisor instructions at all times

Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in general labor, utilities, groundskeeping, construction, or maintenance preferred
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors and around industrial equipment
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • Must pass background screening
