ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs moderate to complex patient service work. This includes routine and emergency care, treatment, and training for people with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.

- 6:00 am - 2:00 pm,
- 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs moderate to complex patient service work. This includes routine and emergency care, treatment, and training for people with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
- Performs health assessments campus-wide.
- Responds to medical emergencies on campus.
- Communicates health status/needs to other disciplines, families as needed.
- Provides personnel management to subordinate nursing staff.
- Delegates work assignments.
- Evaluates employees performance
- Complies with all State/Federal/Local standards.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the nursing process and nursing procedures.
- Actively participates in meetings related to care of persons served in order to manage and coordinate health care to achieve optimal health.
- Demonstrates knowledge of medications administered in order to identify desired effects or adverse reactions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety and infection control practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide treatment to in-house employees injured in course and scope of employment.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact)
- Current CPR certification
- Valid Photo ID
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must have at least 2 years' experience with direct patient care in a residential setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing procedures and practices and of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
- Ability to identify nursing interventions appropriate to the population served.
- Ability to manage and take a leadership role in managing emergencies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members to provide effective clinical supervision or to relay concerns about the patient to other team members.
