The goal is to help ensure that all equipment remains in optimal operating condition, both during routine operations and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing gasoline and diesel-powered engines and mechanical systems.
- Support preventive maintenance activities on a wide range of vehicles and industrial equipment.
- Participate in inspections, troubleshooting, and repair work on pumps, motors, compressors, and related machinery used in water treatment and distribution facilities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Help respond to equipment failures and emergency maintenance needs to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Learn and adhere to safety procedures, technical standards, and environmental regulations relevant to water utility operations.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills, and work collaboratively with experienced team members.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to noise, hazardous materials, and varying weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or relevant coursework in mechanics is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license
